Yes. I'd say they already have.

I suspect Larry T will be the only one still joking about it once it's public knowledge in his usual style.

LOL so Dave basically create a new infraction just for Libertas essentially. That's hilarious.

He never said that.  We've never talked about it.  That's just my best and honest interpretation of the situation.  It was just there one day.

That was my assessment too.  (Dave talks to the mods only marginally more often than the community at large.)

It's a fact that he's just as tired of Libertas as the rest of the community is, but it seems he's using him to fine tune the continuing development of the new moderation system.  Libby provides so many 'gray area' situations for us to work on, in a sense he's actually helping us (bizarrely enough).

Someone fill me in on the backstory here. Joe's post is the only one I can understand.

Read here: https://uselectionatlas.org/FORUM/index.php?topic=119280.0

I don't think anyone outside of his inexplicable clique disagree that Libertas degrades the discourse here with his rather ridiculous and predictable posts, so Dave creating an infraction to cover the stuff that may not have violated the current rules does make sense. We also need an infraction for "debating" by simply stating your position as fact without any backing up or deliberately "misreading" other posts to imply that they agree with you.

Have you never done that BRTD?  I mean, I know I have. If that rule were rigorously enforced, I suspect the mod population in due course would become asymptotically close to being co-extensive with the poster population. Tongue

I'm sure everyone has done that to some level, but not Libertas' where there were massive complaints about it. It wasn't uncommon for Marokai to write a long in depth post to him and he'd just respond with something along the lines of "LOL you're an idiot. I win."

I'm not the one who's continuing this.

BRTD is continuing his petty personal attacks. I'm not interested in prolonging this immature bitching fest, but that doesn't mean I won't react.

When he start to act like an adult, all will be fine. All up to him.

Are you sure that is always wise K?  FWIW, I realized long ago, in my Free Republic days, that doing tit for tat was a dysfunctional strategy. So I adopted other tactics. Smiley

Actually, to veer off topic a bit, such tactics were essential for other reasons as well. For example, when you are the sole public supporter of gay marriage on a forum of thousands of well, unsympathetic folks, with a ban happy owner, it takes a bit of diplomacy!

Of course that's a very good point but sometimes, as a man with a flaws I admitt, hard to follow.

How were your FR days, btw? Wink

Oh yeah that's right. You never criticize my polls or call them pointless before making your own dumb polls or thread beating to death whatever forum meme you currently are. The mods often agree, remember how your "All the following posters are my socks!" thread got locked by Alcon after the whole JSojourner incident?

We also need an infraction for "debating" by simply stating your position as fact without any backing up

No, what you're engaging in here with no examples. Here is a textbook example of you doing it: https://uselectionatlas.org/FORUM/index.php?topic=116869.0

Looks like I handled that thread quite well.

Again, look through your own posting history for examples of "'debating' by simply stating your position as fact without any backing up'".

How about you cite these supposedly so prevalent examples?

I fail to see how this is handling it well and backing up your point greatly:

Indeed, the establishment went down hard yesterday.
Indeed. Nothing says 'Fight the Establishment!' like the son of a Congressman celebrating his victory in a Republican primary at a golf club!

No, that was a non-issue, as I already mentioned.

I guess someone fails to realize a distinction between a criticism (suprise, suprise, but no one is immuned for that) and starting a bitching fest.

I'd gladly consider every criticism as long as it's not an excuse for childlish attacks.

You often fail to see the obvious.

If you want examples of what you described, look back at your own posts on just about every topic, from suburbs to South Park to Sharron Angle. Your stating the 'fact' that driving in North Dakota is like driving in New Jersey was quite hilarious.

It might be if I ever said such a thing. What I said is there are areas in North Dakota more urban than some areas in New Jersey.
