Did anyone see that Jon Huntsman loves Captain Beefheart. F**king cool that someone in mainstream politics enjoys them.

WHAT??? (Googling now.)

It's true. (He's slightly off on a couple of facts but gets most of what he's saying right.)

Well, my opinion of Mr. Huntsman just went up quite a bit. Of course, I already liked him better than all of the other Republican candidates other than Gary Johnson (I wonder if Johnson likes Beefheart?).

Well, I mentioned this earlier in the thread but tomorrow will be my first time seeing The National live. Pretty stoked.

The National was great. Kind of wish I drank a bit less though. Damned $9 city beers.

RIP Davy Jones

I'm  a big fan of 60s Britpop, Right now I'm listening to Badge by Cream, Written by George Harrison (who donated cash to the Natural law party) and sung by Eric Clapton (infamously a Enoch Powell Conservative, ironically for someone whose career is inspeied by black music).

Awesome song.

Seconded.

I bought a bunch of new vinyl recently, including a white record and a picture disc. Pretty cool.

That MCA news really blows. The dude was still pretty young. I remember I was supposed to see the Beasties at All Points West in '09 but their appearance had to be cancelled because he had been diagnosed. RIP.

I've been listening to In the Aeroplane Over the Sea by Neutral Milk Hotel for the past few days. It's a pretty great album.

Yes, yes it is. Try On Avery Island next.

Saw Dirty Projectors last night (w/ Wye Oak and Purity Ring). I'm not a hardcore fan, but I was really pretty blown away by them, they sound great live.

Going through intense personal problems, the light finally came back on for me listening to Grizzly Bear and Arcade Fire. Yeah, I am one of those pretentious douchebags. My tastes are incredibly varied though, I'm just a man who needs his indie/electronica/art pop sometimes (whether LCD Soundsystem or Neutral Milk Hotel or the Fleet Foxes).

Sounds like you have pretty good taste! Going to see Jeff Mangum in February actually.

I've been listening to The Execution of All Things by Rilo Kiley. It's the sort of thing I like a lot. The title track in particular is great.

Isn't it pretty awesome that the band includes Pinsky from Salute Your Shorts?

Alas Xahar has probably never seen that show.

Ah, good point. Perhaps he saw Boy Meets World in re-runs at least?
