Guys, seriously, we should give newbies some benefit of doubt before we'll start to adress sock suspicion openly.

If we have doubts, we should just PM moderator for an IP check instead of making threads.

A similar situation happened on AH.com.  This thirteen year old wacko Asian kid kept registering sock accounts, and for a while every new member was suspected as being him.  He was on here once, name is General Mung Beans.

Please use PMs if you have reason to believe someone is a sock.  IP Check threads to be frowned upon.  If you want us to publicly identify you as the person who had doubts first, if it's a proxy, we'll proudly make sure that people know it was you.

     Posting public threads suggesting a new user is a sock doesn't really do anything but shoo away newbies. I once thought a new poster might have been Hamilton, so I PM'd Lunar with my concerns. Lunar ran an IP check & let me know that the user in question did not have a suspicious IP. Glad that I did not make a thread about it, eh?
