Bacon King, I'd really recommend not going any further south than KY or VA.  I'll not go north past that line in the near future (my future's westward expansion), so leave me alone and you'll benefit too.

I would suggest you go as far south as you feel like going.  In fact, it's probably for the best that you expand into the most beneficially positioned opponent of yours.  In this case being the ONLY neighbor of yours that currently holds a region.  The longer he holds that, the longer he'll be a threat to you.
