On Pardon The Interuption on Tuesday, Charles Barkley said "I have voted for John Kerry, and if John Kerry loses, I will run for Governor of my homestate of Alabama."  Hosts Mike Wilbon and Tony Kornheiser asked him during the commercial break if he was serious, and he repeated that he would run for governor.

Do you think he will run?  And, would be win? (doubtful)

I thought Barkley was a Republican???

Barring admitting support for Kerry, he could have been formidable in a GOP primary against Riley.

Yes, I remember Barkley saying he was a Republican and catching flak from his family for "acting like a rich guy."  He responded that well, yes, he is rich.

Riley is surely vulnerable, but I don't see Republicans in Alabama voting for a guy who said he voted for Kerry over him in a primary election.  Would be a big joke

Barkely is a very stupid man.  He cannot think properly.  He should run because it would be entertaining, like VCentura was, and its not like Alabama could do worse than they are doing now.
