Should citizens, not born in the United States, be allowed to become the Presdient? Say, if your parents were Canadian or British, and you moved to the United States when you were say one or two years old. I can't see why not. People that did this are no less american than me.

Let the Congress approve of an ammendemnt, and just continue with the ratification, like what was done with every ammendment in the Constitution.

I am in favor of letting naturalized citizens run for president by the way.

It would have to be a constitutional ammendment. Three-fourths of the states would have to okay it anyway.

The problem is if this done to  enable a particular person to run, it is certain that at least thirteen states will not do it vecause they favor the other party and  it just isn't important enough to pass muster on its own.  About the only way I could see something like this passing would be if another constitutional convention is called for.

Yes, I cannot think of a reason why they SHOULDN'T be allowed to. Plus I'd like to have a president Vorlon or president Gabu.

I've decided no. I would oppose any such amendment to the Constitution.

I don't see why not.  After all, George Washington was British. Wink

Seriously though, I don't really see a reason not to let someone run for President who had lived in America all of his or her life simply because that person's place of birth was not in America.  If the public doesn't want a president who wasn't born in America, they'll say so at the voting booths.
