I vote yea on confirming Peter Bell as Attorney General.

I vote yea on confirming Liberty as Secretary of State.

I vote yea on confirming Fritz as Secretary of Forum Affairs.

I vote yea on confirming MasterJedi as Secretary of the Treasury.

I vote nay on confirming Ronald Reagan as Secretary of Defense.  Sorry, Reagan.  I like you, you're just not ready for this position.  Consider this a vote for John Ford rather than a vote against you.

With 6 votes each, it would appear the Peter Bell, Fritz, and me have been confirmed (With MasterJedi needing only two votes more)

I would like to thank all of the Senators for their confidence in me, I am deeply honored to be given my first important position in the Atlasian government. I would also like to thank the Senators for confirming Bell and Fritz. I know my job will be easier working alongside these two (and hopefully MasterJedi as well)

There is something else I would like to say today, I believe that Reagan should get the position as Secretary of Defense. Reagan has worked for the Atlas since the beginning I believe and has never held a position to my knowledge. It is time we gave him a chance to show his ability to lead the people of Atlasia. When Reagan's namesake ran for president in 1980 some thought he might not be up to the job, but he surprised everyone by showing excellent leadership and helped to end the Cold War. Some of you might think Reagan is not up to the job, but he could surprise you by demonstrating strength you never thought possible.

During my tenure as Secretary I hope to establish firm and warm relationships with the other nations of the world. Working with those I lead, we will make Atlasia a friendly nation which sets an example for others. It is my fervant wish that Atlasia will remain peaceful and will not get caught up in foreign wars unless beyond a doubt they are proven absolutely necessary to protect the liberty enjouyed by our citizens. What I will not do is in any way limit Atlasia's sovereignty by subjecting it to global organizations like the UN. A "New World Order" as nice as it sounds, could be one of the greatest danger to the liberty and freedom of people here in Atlasia. As Secretary of State I will stand firm, listening to your praise as well as your criticism. May God and Dave bless Atlasia as we move forward.
                                              Liberty, Secretary of State

I abstain on confirming Ronald Reagan as Secretary of Defense.  (I cannot in right mind vote for him but don't wish my vote counted against him as PB deserves to get his choices)

Well, thank you Liberty. In school, kids could not pick out 5 out of 6 kids to play a game, having one kid left out. I guess in forum politics, you could.

You could always ask PB to be the White House Chief of Staff. No Senate confirmation needed for that!

For what it's worth, i'd've voted for you. John Ford did a great ob, (and I expect wll continue to do a great job, just quietly) but the President should be able to pick his cabinet. Because you don't have plans to bomb France anytime soon, you aren't going to destoy the country. I probably wouldn't have voted for you as Sec. of FA, though Wink

Well now you can all stop your complaining because I now officialy renominate John D. Ford for Secretary of Defense.

As was my plan all along. If Reagan was not confirmed that I was to renominate Ford.
