I'd like the 48 citizens of Pitcairn to elect an MP with the same voting power as the member for, say, Isle of Wight.  Wink

Surely Wight is ripe for being split into two by now, right?

It's ripe for being split into 1.5, but will be split into 2. Anglesey, with pretty exactly half the population of Wight, will be paired with areas on the mainland because it is liable to vote for Labour.

I'd go for five MPs:
  • Guernsey
  • Jersey
  • Mann
  • West Indies (Anguilla, Caymans, Montserrat, Turks & Caicos, Virgins)
  • Overseas (the rest)

or

  • Guernsey and Gibraltar
  • Jersey
  • Mann
  • West Indies (Anguilla, Montserrat, Turks & Caicos, Virgins)
  • Overseas (the rest)

Gibraltar is way too small for an MP of its own. The first proposal makes better sense geographically, while the second is better balanced population-wise.
