Do you guys have any proof that Alexi is actually corrupt or anything? Or are you just making the old "all Illinois politicians are criminals" joke? Because of most of the "Alexi is corrupt" allegations strike me as pretty silly and easily refuted.
I never do that, never have, never will.
But you can tell if a politician is corrupt based on what they do in Washington, who they associate with and how self serving they are. Murkowski is corrupt, Harry Reid is corrupt, as is Rep. Don Young, Rep. Jerry Lewis, Rep. Ken Calvert, Rep. Jo Bonner, Rep. Paul Kanjorski etc etc.
So were Denny Hastert, Conrad Burns, Jerry Weller, Rick Renzie, John Doolittle, Don Cunningam.
It isn't that hard to figure out which ones are corrupt. Each one on a case by case basis did something that was unethical. Ken Calvert earmaked money to increase the property he owned nearby. The Ethics committee dropped it. One of the members of the ethics committee was Jo Bonner who has some ethical lapses himself (can't remember exactly what, I would have to look it up again).
Don Young likes to earmark money to benefit his close allies and friends and then likes to bully RSC members who try and reduce or remove them. Murtha operated in a similar fashion. Its not random and its not cynicism of politicians, and its not political either. The thuggish, criminal behavior always manifests itself. You just have to be willing to look and say, you know what, this guy might agree with me 100% but he his engaging in things that just sicken me out and I want him gone. Some like Cunningham do get prosecuted, while others escape prosecution and get away with it.
@ JL: Who isn't pointing out corruption in his own party? Most of the names up here are Republicans because thats where I focused most of attention. I don't want crooks in my party because I am sick and tired of you people winning elections because someone on our side broke the law. I wonder when you will apologize for making a false assumption about me to deflect a legitimate criticism of far left hacks (Which by the way you are not the first person in my mind when I said that, maybe I should bump you up the list.
