Because if she loses, the margin of loss is most likely because she's a Sikh. Kind of like Bobby Jindal's first loss (although he is a Christian.)
Im pretty sure she says shes christian.

She has been a bit fuzzy on it... I think she goes to church with her husband and her kids are being raised Christian... but she has been private about it and some of her statements indicate she has a foot in both camps. Not like Bobby Jindal, whose conversion and strong faith are a huge part of his biography.

God, I sound like a birther. I mean this completely respectfully, I'm not Christian myself.

It's horrible that Indian Americans feel they need to Anglicise their names and change their religion to be politically viable.

I hope she pulls through. Probably the only Republican I'm supporting.

What on Earth is going on in Summit County, OH? The Green candidate has nearly 30% of the vote in that county.

Thank God, that was an epic typo on behalf of the NYT.

URGENT UPDATE:

If you live in Bridgeport and you were turned away from the poll due to problems, please go back to your poll and vote.  The problems have been fixed. The polls listed below are open until 10 pm tonight.

Some polls in the City of Bridgeport are now open until 10 p.m. tonight. After voting problems were widely reported in Bridgeport earlier in the day, hours have been extended until 10.

Any registered Bridgeport voter who has not yet had a chance to vote today is urged to go to their polling station before 10 p.m. and cast their ballots.

The following Bridgeport polling locations will be open until 10pm this evening:

Park City
Longfellow
Beardsley
Read
Central
Winthrup
Hallen
Hooker
Blackrock
JFK
Blackham
City Hall

Selectively opening polls should be illegal.  It is patently unfair.

damn, call me crazy, but my gut's really saying that Sheheen's gonna pull this one off Smiley

She'll win this, albeit narrowly. Greenville and Charleston County's are still out, and most of Columbia/Richland has reported. I expect Haley will carry both Charleston and Greenville Counties.

ME and VT leave it up to the towns to count votes.  Some are slower than others.

NY just closed at 9 - so, it's early.
------------------------------------
In Westchester, which is a pretty good bellwether, usually, Wilson (R) is leading (Comptroller), Donovan (R) (AG) is down.   They're very preliminary results, FWIW.

Texas Republicans up +15 House seats on early voting.

Now +17 with nothing in from Harris, Travis, and El Paso.

It's still really early, but Chaffee and Caprio may have Coleman-Frankened too much with this race.  Robitaille is doing great for a Republican in Rhode Island at any % reporting.

Barney Frank's victory speech was deliciously nasty. He kicked Bielat a few times.
