The secretary of state is going to be announcing the winner in 10 minutes, and from what I have heard, foley picked up quite a bit of votes. Looks like she is going to reverse it.

Jesus Christ, Connecticut.  Even Florida was able to do a better job counting its votes than you!

The media screwed up their calling of a lot of races. GA-02 was called for the Republican. Whoops, the Democrat won. It looks like the same thing probably happened with the California Attorney General race.

In fairness, Bishop is at least slightly magical.

You mean Malloy. He is 5000 votes ahead with only 10 precincts from Bridgeport remaining.

No, I meant foley. It sounds like he might be leading by a little over 2 thousand votes.

Oh damn, what a funny race. Smiley

I remember seeing Fox News calling the race for Foley, the reversing their call despite Foley was still leading. When I first looked at the NYT map, CT was blue, then it became red again and today it just became blue... It really seems to be the tricky State of the year...

Because susan is an idiot. She was calling a race on unofficial results. There are still results from republican leaning towns and cities that haven't been announced yet. So far, no announcment yet.

I don't know where you get your informations from.

http://www.courant.com/news/politics/hc-ct-governor-election-results-1105-20101104,0,7073133.story

And as I mentioned there are only 10 precincts left at Bridgeport. Do you think they will put Foley back on top?

Well, considering she was going to release her tally of the town-by-town results yesterday - and we still haven't seen them - 10 minutes probably means next week.

Your Secretary of State is an idiot.

Bridgeport's Use Of Election Day Reverse 911 Scrutinized.

Bridgeport - Connecticut's own little banana republic.

Don't order enough ballots.  When you supposedly run out of ballots, photocopy them and let voters vote on photocopies.  Who cares if they supposedly have to be tallied by hand?  Then, run to court and claim that because voters can't vote, the polls should be open another two hours.  Ignore that you've been photocopying the ballots and voters have been voting, anyway.  Then, make a reverse 911 call to get those who haven't voted out to the polls, now open with extended hours not seen in the rest of the state.

Something stinks here.

If voting were mandatory we wouldn't have these problems.

No, but we would have an altogether different problem of people being coerced into doing something that they couldn't care less about.

Yeah, she is. She finally announces that she doesnt have the full tally from Bridgeport, and we have to wait until tomorrow. Problem is that regardless of the end results in this election, there very well could be a legal battle.  Also, I still dont trust the whole Bridgeport deal. Sounds like the city was just trying tos save a few people by allowing more people to come back to vote.

Another problem with CT -- the AP reported the results for New Haven wrong, they were undercounting Malloy's total by something like 15,000 votes. So now he's ahead, with just Bridgeport left.
