First ARD projection:

Seats:

48 - SPD
39 - CDU
29 - Greens
19 - Left
14 - Pirates

Geez doesn't that add up to like ~70% of the vote for the left-wing parties? That makes Berlin the least conservative German state right?

City-states are awesome...

Because "others" is at about 8%, it could be the case that the FDP will eventually be BEHIND the NPD or the FREIHEIT ...

If the SPD can stay at 48 seats, they only need an ally with 27 to form government. The Greens are at 30 right now, so that's good news for them.

SPD-Greens could have one problem though:

The SPD favors the extension of the Berlin Stadtautobahn A100, which the Greens are completely opposed to. If the Greens are totally blocked in the coalition talks, the SPD could go for the CDU.

Apparently, the turnout has increased in the final hours of voting and ARD/ZDF are now projecting it to be higher than in 2006 @ about 59/60%.

State Election Mechlenburg-Vorpommern

The Seat goes to the SPD (FDP comes in third; so no chance for the seat.)

--> MV

There was a campaign for the greens, because there was the chance that they can take a seat away from the nazis, if they reach enough votes in Rügen.

Sorry, but i don't know if they made it.

The Left Party called for voting Greens, because one seat may flip from the Nazis to the Greens, if they poll very strong in the constituency.

If Wowereit goes for a SPD-Left-Pirate coalition, can this hurt him in prospects for a Chancellorship candidacy in West Germany because this will show that he prefers alliances with radicals than with long-time SPD partners, although this can help with anti-establishment voters? In federal polls, I can see also a Pirate wave taking voters from Greens and Left.

- i was wrong in mv - it were the communists supporting the greens in rügen.

- i hope there will be no pirate-wave on a federal level in germany.

If Wowereit goes for a SPD-Left-Pirate coalition

No chance for that to happen, no idea what its impact, theoretically, would be on Wowereits career prospects.
