Welcome!

For those of you who don't know, the citizens of the Midwest, showing the kind of judgement that people in the other 4 regions have come to expect from them, have elected me Prime Verin (or 'Governor' as some may call it.)

I'm sure at this point you're saying: "Gee, That's great. But should I post something here?"

Well ask yourself 3 questions:

1.Are you a citizen of the Midwest who has a concern about something?

2. Do you want to yell at me for forgetting to update the Alþing?

3. Are you an insecure heterosexual male who's upset that I'm destroying you in the football picks and you want to vent?

If you said 'Yes' to any of these questions then this is the place for you. Wink

But seriously, All comments are welcome. Cheesy

Congrats on your victory. I'm not sure when we get sworn in. Since both of our office are new and thus vacant It might be up to us. Unless someone else knows better.

Why would one need to 'swear-in'?

I'm not clear on who swears me in.

Also I've been asked to figure out what our top priorities are as a region in terms of how much money we need and for what. You know, Education and infrastructure.

Any thoughts?

A new Foosball table in the breakroom would be nice.

You don't need to be 'sworn-in'.
You were elected - that's it. Time to get on with the job.

I was happy to learn that the Unemployment rate in the Midwest is the lowest in the nation at 7.0%. But this is still not good enough. And I'll continue to work with The Alþing and the Federal Government to ensure that any Midwesterner who wants a job can get a job.

It is scandalous that cake not be given to new Midwesterners!  Cake is of utmost importance!

Okay. I didn't want to make a big deal out of this. But if you check the first page of the Census topic it says that Giovanni's last region move was June 19, 2010. And that was to the South. I'm not sure when he posted a move to the Midwest.

I just checked my old RG files...when I left the Census Bureau, Giovanni had a pending move to ND effective Dec. 16.  That having passed and the move now taken place, Hans should update the date of his last move.

I know a few farmers in the Red River Valley that grow beets... so, not knowing what to do with them.. I made a red velvet sheet cake for everyone to share!

It is important, after all, that we remember leaner times when food coloring and cocoa were in short supply... so beets were used to enhance color and retain moisture in the cake!

Remember folks, knowledge is power!
