LOL opebo.  That's the whole reason Assange turned himself into a celebrity to begin with.  He can't be "disappeared" because he's too high-profile.

I think that has more to do with wanting to be popular. Anyone that wishes to put others at risk like him is clearly doing it for the attention.

I wonder if he was picked last, whenever soccer was played with the other kids on the playground.

Maybe this is the time for you to explain how exactly he put others at risk?

Also, I was also picked last when they played soccer at the playgrouns.

He puts US citizens and informants at risk... US citizens with the revelation of important security sites and informants with the revelation of their names.

Sorry to hear that?

He's an Australian citizen, btw. So charging him in the US would be for espionage, not treason.

It isn't as if any of the documents contained relevant tactical information. Nor is it likely that Iraqi/Afghani citizens needed a reminder of what coalition troops were up to, so there won't have been that many more taliban members as a result of these relevations.

Actually I suppose an absolute disappearance is the most likely event.

Ala, GITMO?

They have their own baseball field?

Other than Joe Lieberman? No, but people seem to be less than aware that he isn't an American.

From the UK Independent:

Informal discussions have already taken place between US and Swedish officials over the possibility of the WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange being delivered into American custody, according to diplomatic sources.

Yeah, those charges in Sweden have nothing to do with the leaks......  Roll Eyes

Often seen that. I'm sorry but 'the guy' could have given the nuclear codes, the way to crack military communications and on and on, I don't see how 'he' should be charged too, no matter 'he' would be American or Bhutanese, 'he' only passes informations, 'he' only speaks, no matter the importance of informations the fault is on a lack of protection or on a person who would have deliberately leaked while hadn't to.

Not saying all of this would be wonderfully smart to do if you can do it, just saying responsibilities should be kept straight.

That's nonsense, the fascist government of the USA that puts those citizens at risk by sending them on foreign aggressions, not Assange.  Assange merely exposes the genocide, torture, and other abuses they get up to.

Not yet but here is the article I was referencing.

"The US Justice Department is considering charging Mr Assange with espionage offences over his website’s unprecedented release of classified US diplomatic files. Several right-wing American politicians are pressing for his prosecution and even execution, with Sarah Palin, the former vice-presidential candidate, saying he should be pursued the same as al-Qa’ida and Taliban leaders."

It wasn't clear from that, but would this be an actual public trial, or just a secret 'trial' by military tribunal, considering him an 'enemy combatant'.

Because if it is a public trial it could be interesting I suppose.  Dreadful but interesting.

No, but I'd doubt that they'd have to wall their ball field either.

Then he should not be tried; declare war on Wikileaks.

The world sucks, and the American State sucks. We live in a depressing world, controlled by the omnipotent interconnected elite. What else is new?
