Is there a certain reason why Milwaukee is not listed on Mideast "hubs"?  It has a higher population than Cleveland, Richmond, Wheeling, Nyman (If we're going off D.C. population) and St. Louis.

No worries, Tmth.. I plan to introduce significant passenger rail legislation.  The cities mentioned in the stimulus bills are meant to construct hubs.  Milwaukee already has rail connections to Chicago and the Twin Cities.  Eventually, a high speed connection will be built from Chicago to the Twin Cities via Milwaukee, Madison, and Rochester, MN.  But as of now, Milwaukee already has frequent train service to Chicago where they can connect to other cities to the southwest, south, and east.

In the grand scheme of things, Milwaukee would serve as a regional rail hub for regional express trains (traveling up to 125mph) to other cities like Green Bay, the Fox Valley, Duluth, and the UP of Michigan.

Gotcha, was hoping you'd be able to clarify since you live up in that direction. Thanks Snowy. Smiley

1.   $5 billion for the maintenance of roads, bridges, dams, levees and canals.
2.   $3 billion for track upgrades.
3.   $1.5 billion for increased medical research at state universities.
4.   $500 million for unemployed worker retraining.

Credit to sbane for some helpful suggestions since I really haven't been following this (surprise surprise!).

Would these be specifically for your region or for Atlasia at large?

For the Northeast. This is utilizing the $10 Billion dollars meant for our region.

I am going to pretend you actually offered that as an official amendment (to save time Tongue ). The amendment is accepted by the sponsor as friendly and Senators have 24 hours to object to its adoption.

Neglecting Raleigh, NC, are we Yank? How shocking! Surely you think it's an important enough hub for a rail line!

Lets be serious here. Its only a few hundred million for each region. The more cities, the less each will get. Unless you want each region to only get two ties and a shack, you might want to call it quits till we can address the issue in a stand alone bill. Tongue

If no one objects, I plan to open a final vote tomorrow morning.
