this is for anyone with an intimate knowledge of mass politics.

i noticed that the conservative mormon, mitt romney, won middlesex county in 02.  however, the more liberal republican, paul celluci, lost middlesex in 98?

how did a conservative republican win middlesex...even in the wake of the jane swift 'scandal'?
