Huh

Now that's surprising, for two reasons:

(1) it seems that you approve of him more than any other Republican (not that I'm complaining...); everyone else has either F or F-
(2) How does one get an F+?

I graded on both electability in a general election and how much I liked them and averaged them together somewhat. It may be bias but I feel that the GOP field is lacking in its 2012 prospective candidates. If any of the below candidates run, Obama is likely to get a swift re-election inspite of his lackluster performance on improving the economy.

Democratic:

Barack Obama: B+
Hillary Clinton    A-
Howard Dean:  C-
Mike Gravel:      F
Dennis Kucinich:F

Republican

Sarah Palin: F
Mitt Romney: D+
Mike Huckabee: F
Newt Gingrich: F
Ron Paul: B-
Tim Pawlenty: C
Haley Barbour: F
Mike Pence: F
John Thune: D
Mitch Daniels: F
Donald Trump: D+
George Pataki: B+
Rudy Guilani: C-

Independent- electability is not revelent here so this is a beauty contest grade:

Ralph Nader: F
Michael Bloomberg: B
Jesse Ventura: A
Lou Dobbs: D

Giuliani is no doubt due to their shared love of gun control and invading other countries.

Rather than grade them, I'll order them in terms of my preference. The dots represent the cut-off point at which I would feasibly vote for the candidates in question.

Democratic:

Mike Gravel
Dennis Kucinich
Jimmy McMillan
Howard Dean
....................
Alvin Greene
Barack Obama
Hillary Clinton

Republican:

Gary Johnson
Ron Paul
George Pataki
Mitt Romney
Donald Trump
.....................
John Thune
Tim Pawlenty
Rudy Giuliani
Haley Barbour
Newt Gingrich
Herman Cain
Mike Pence
Mitch Daniels
John Bolton
Sarah Palin
Mike Huckabee

Independent:

Jesse Ventura
Michael Bloomberg
Ralph Nader
.....................
Lou Dobbs

Why would you ever vote for Romney? And didn't you praise Giuliani a while ago?

Given an explanation if I feel it is needed. Up to A++, down to F- (only one minus).

Democratic:

Barack Obama - D (Beats some alternatives, but he really is about as bad as Bush was)
Mike Gravel - C
Alvin Greene - C
Jimmy McMillan - C
Howard Dean - C
Hillary Clinton - F
Dennis Kucinich - B+ (He isn't a crook, which gives him brownie points)

Republican:

Mitt Romney - F (He doesn't have a single belief that he wouldn't surrender if pushed)
Sarah Palin - F (How she represents "Libertarians" is beyond me)
Mike Huckabee - D+ (Better than a lot of alternatives, but not very good)
Newt Gingrich - D- (A giant hypocrite)
Gary Johnson - A (Good, but too wishy-washy on a lot of important issues)
Ron Paul - A+ (Great in most aspects, but his immigration views lose him a +)
Tim Pawlenty - D
Haley Barbour - F
Mike Pence - D
John Thune - D
Mitch Daniels - F+
Herman Cain - F
John Bolton - F
Rick Santorum - F
Donald Trump - F
George Pataki - F
Rudy Giuliani - F- (Possibly the worst possible candidate)

Independent:

Ralph Nader - C
Michael Bloomberg - F
Jesse Ventura - B+
Lou Dobbs - F
