No, I wouldn't have. If elected President (and if the Senate passes it again) one of my first orders of business will be to sign it into law.

e: I do recognise the President's concern about the bill though - if the Senate doesn't pass the Act in the next session, I think Senator Duke's proposal is a reasonable compromise.

Well everyone, the election's upon us. It's been a pretty eventful campaign, and it's been a lot of fun to participate in.

Currently sitting in an imaginary chair in an imaginary hotel lobby watching the exit polling.

There's no official word yet, but I think we all know the result... well, that was one hell of a campaign - from the drama of the early weeks to the genuinely interesting debates - and the closeness of the final result speaks to the quality of a diverse field. But it's come to an end, and it's with some disappointment but no regrets that I concede my defeat in the Presidential election.

I've already talked to President-elect Tmth to offer him my sincere congratulations. Tmth and I worked together closesly as Governors, and I'm confident that we can continue that good relationship as he moves into the White House. It was a hard fought victory, and he deserves it.

I'd like to thank my friends and supporters who worked really hard on my behalf, and I'm sorry I couldn't pull off this victory. It was always going to be tough. Special thanks to my running mate, Snowguy, who would have made a great Vice President and I hope he'll return to the Senate (some day soon. ).

Anyway, that's all, folks. Thanks again everyone, and, if nothing else, I hope you had fun during the campaign.

You ran an honorable, substantive, and reasonable campaign.  Unlike most years, Atlasia was gifted by having the election end up as a battle between two good candidates.  I wish you success in any future Atlasian endeavors.
