What governors would you like to see run for president? Which ones might run?

I know Pataki has been mentioned, but supposedly he's not popular in his home state lately.

Warner is another possibility. I don't know if he could carry Virginia or not, but it'd depend on the Republican nominee.

Hm. That guy elected in Montana and Brad henry are good on the dem side.
As for our side, I'm not sure.We cannot afford to loose governorships.

I like Warner, Scweitzer, or Bredensen. Maybe Eliot Spitzer (who I expect will be part of the class of 2006), although like Scweitzer he would be a better nominee in 2012 (if necesary).

As for Republicans I'd suggest Romney or Owens;

I think either Gov. Sanford of South Carolina or Gov. Easley of North Carolina could run in 2008.  I don't think that Gov. Purdue of Georgia would have any hope of success.  He plays OK in Georgia, but I don't think that he could hope to do well in either Iowa or New Hampshire.
