A.I was under the impression we couldn't use the NY Post as links because....I believe they were called "silly" or something.

I hadn't heard that, but I like silly threads, I originally thought the proposal was about ALL flunkies from their headline

2.So if the Feds find out by any means they can (including forcing the military to break Privacy Act rules) that you smoked pot once 25 years ago you can never own a gun?

Something like that, at least as far as that article goes

...so I take it that 'flunkies' means something slightly different in Americanese?

Tabloid headlines are a unique form of Americanese

the above sentence translated to an NY Post headline: USA TO BRITAIN: TRABLOID$ BEWARE

I have to say though: failing a military drug-test seems strikes me as rather poor planning -- it's not exactly a secret that they drug-test you before they let you become a soldier.  If you're not planning on quitting beforehand, it just seems like you're either not that bright or delusional, like me thinking I could still become an NFL quarterback.

That said, this is of course strikes me as a ridiculous response to the Arizona shooting.
