What an utterly stupid and arbitrary idea. Equating someone who failed a drug test for marijuana use to someone who failed a drug test for narcotics is utterly ridiculous and serves no substantial government interest (besides serving as a front for keeping its relatively cozy relationship with big lumber tight and spotless).

They should go the whole nine yards if they are serious about wanting some form of gun control as a "response" to the Giffords shooting (not that I necessarily endorse such a response). Although the fact that they only think this is an important thing to try and push through after a member of congress was attacked is pretty gross.
