Could she just be waiting to run for the full term in 2012? That way she could fufill her duties as Congresswoman, which was her main excuse.

there's a newer one. Tomblin still leads by a big margin, but the election won't be a democratic blowout.

If the national GOP takes interest in this race, we could have a ballgame. Certainly winnable for the GOP, though I think Ireland would have made a better opponent.
