Or it could be Tina Fey, there isn't much difference anyway.

http://blogs.cbn.com/thebrodyfile/archive/2011/02/05/exclusive-sarah-palin-interview-with-the-brody-file.aspx

In an exclusive interview with The Brody File, Sarah Palin criticized President Obama for his handling of the situation in Egypt saying that this was his, “3am White House phone call” and, “that call went right to the answering machine.” Her answers about Egypt are the first time she’s talked publicly about the situation.

...

"And nobody yet has, no body yet has explained to the American public what they know, and surely they know more than the rest of us know who it is who will be taking the place of Mubarak and um, no, not, not real um enthused about what it is that that's being done on a national level and from D.C. in regards to understanding all the situation there in Egypt. And um, in these areas that are so volatile right now because obviously it's not just Egypt but the other countries too where we are seeing uprisings, we know that now more than ever, we need strength and sound mind there in the White House.  We need to know what it is that America stands for so we know who it is that America will stand with.  And um, we do not have all that information yet."

It sounds like she doesn't even know what is happening in Egypt other than "something bad is happening in Egypt."

The information she seeks for the American people can probably be found in a Wikipedia article.

I saw the title and knew this would be bad. That's how predictable she is - whatever she says, you know it'll be bad.

It sounds like she is implying that there is some kind of secret (and possibly nefarious) plan going on to replace Mubarak

Sorry, but that is as close as I can get when I put it through the Palin-to-English translator

I think she wouldn't have known who Mubarak even is or where Egypt is on a map, before her advisers told her ...

This quote punctuates and retains the "um"s and "err"s enough that it would make anyone sound uneducated and confused.  Not that she said anything, anyway.

I think you should have to say something that makes sense first if you want the interns at news organizations to clean up your transcriptions

Yeah... even Barack Obama uses "um" as much as she did.

I think the difference is between most peoples "um"s are actually sentences. The um is usually after one sentence and just used as a pause sound while the next sentence is thought of in the brain.

In between Sarah's "um"s are usually just random phrases.

It depends... for my roommate's senior project last year (my last roommate), I had to read through 100 speeches and interviews of Obama's.  Ususally, the transcripts would leave the "um"s out, but occasionally they'd be left in there, and there were times he used them a lot.

But hey, nobody's as bad as Tom Tancredo!  Grin

The um free version still doesn't make much sense:

"And nobody yet has, no body yet has explained to the American public what they know, and surely they know more than the rest of us know who it is who will be taking the place of Mubarak and, no, not, not real enthused about what it is that that's being done on a national level and from D.C. in regards to understanding all the situation there in Egypt. The public doesn't know what the White House knows, and surely the White House knows better than the public who will replace Mubarak.

We need strength and sound mind in the White House to handle the Middle East as a whole, because it's not just in Egypt where there are uprisings.

Sure, some of it's awkwardly worded, but it's pretty clear what she's saying.

Yes, there's coherent thoughts somewhere in there...but the crazy people who email CNN could have said the same thing more articulately.  She's not really saying anything.

What exactly do you think Obama should be doing differently?    Support Mubarak?  Send in troops?

In any case, we've got to stand with our Iranian allies.
