I don't know about the Upstate, but on Long Island the two county clerks are, if not household names, still reasonably known by the populace.

Corwin should win, but a lot depends on who turns out.

Democrats have a very, very good track record with special elections (especially in New York) so I'm not really sure where all the pessimism is coming from.

This is the one district in the entire state that has been drawn to be a hardcore conservative Republican district (arguably NY-13 is Republican because of Republicans´s secondary role as the Staten Island National Party and NY-3 is merely "Long Island Republican" and not overly conservative).

Is it possible that she gets close to 50% after all ?

Not likely. A lot of rural areas still outstanding nad Davis is taking his share. Still, even if she stays at 47% or 48% it would be hard to argue it's all Davis's fault.

Niagara isn't going to be close at all - it's well over a 1000 vote lead for Hochul at this point. But where are Orleans and Geneese? I know, nobody cares anymore, but I do Smiley)

Wow, this is big. This was one of only 2 districts in the state that Democrats hadn't manage to win yet.

So what's the other one?  Thanks!

The only district that hasn't been democratic at least briefly since 2005 is NY-3 (King). There are still 6 other Republicans who won in 2010, of course.  The seniority of NY Republican delegation is rather underwhelming Smiley))

Most of Genesee is in - Corwin gained a net of about 400 votes.
