Kathy Hochul kind of gave some dodgy answers on Hardball last night.  It's understandable, she probably wasn't expecting them, but I got a mixed reaction to her.

She's just some random county official from Western New York; most would do pretty poorly if thrown on to Hardball.

If this really turns out to have been the way it looks in this short video, this could be Jack Davis' 'macaca moment'.

Sure didn't help Bob Etheridge, that's for sure.

Yeah, but Davis smacked down a Librul!!!

Apparently it was Corwin's Chief of Staff behind the camera.

Not sure when CoS's started spending their time being trackers though.

Why is she being savaged? For the tracker incident? Or something new?

Not necessarily. Staffers are free to help out with political campaigns in their own free time. They'd run into legal issues if he was doing this during the workday or if he used state resources in some way.

Nate Silver: A key fact from that NY-26 poll: only 50% of those who say Medicare most important issue are Democrats. But 80% plan to vote Hochul.

Democrats have a very, very good track record with special elections (especially in New York) so I'm not really sure where all the pessimism is coming from.

Studies of field programs show that those people who are pissed and frustrated at being bothered aren't going going to change their votes or intentionally not show up because of the phone calls. People value their votes too much to let it be decided by something petty like that.

Nevertheless, very funny article.

Corwin with 17% would be a disaster for the Republican party.

Jack Davis likely made those numbers up in the shower Monday morning. Don't even pay attention to them.

14/183 precincts in Erie in and Hochul leads 56-38 there. If that holds this isn't even going to be close.

Erie numbers are holding up with 22% in.

This thing's over. There's no way Corwin can make up for the numbers in Erie.

These results have also come in shockingly quick.

Anyone know what's going on with the remaining five precincts in Erie?
