You are a godsend!

However, I'm having a problem opening the PDF's. I get a message that reads "There was a problem reading this document (9)." Followed by "This file contains information not understood by the viewer. Supress further errors?"

EDIT: After a great deal of tinkering I think I've fixed the problem. Merci beaucoup.

Hi, folks. I created a map of the 2012 GOP primary results in Massachusetts by town. Unfortunately, I have not posted 20 posts to enable links. If anyone would to post the link to my image, I can send you the image link in a message or an email.

Hey Dallas, could you do the 2010 and 2012 senate elections by congressional district?

A quick dip into Homely's File of Electoral Arcana:

Here we have the percentage of the vote for each of the three losing candidates in the 2009 MA Democratic Senate Primary won by Martha Coakley - Alan Khazei, Mike Capuano and Steve Pagliuca, mapped simultaneously over the 2002-2010 Massachusetts State House of Representatives districts using a 4,096 three-variable continuous color scale.

Likewise. Especially considering that he got walloped (almost 2-1) in Burlington.

However, one pattern I did notice about MA (and I suspect it's similar in VT too) was that despite overwhelming wins, there were some small-town D enclaves. For instance, in that 1920 map Harding only lost two towns: Milford and Blackstone.

I believe I have the 1916 results as well for VT (which was only 61% Republican) so that might give a more clear picture about where Democratic strength (if there was any to speak of) was.

I've got a lot of Rhode Island's elections, 1950-present done, if you'd like any, let me know!

Rhode Island has the best previous elections website ever.

VT Data Smiley Smiley Smiley

I don't know about that! Mass's website used to link to archive.org's logs of MA elections going back to 1900 or so. Wink

That being said, I've done several New England composites over the years and I would be appreciative if you could tack on Rhode Island where appropriate Smiley (for instance, I updated 1964 on my laptop and forgot to use the version that had Rhode Island included.)

Rhode Island's site would be better if it had town results for old presidential primaries.

I feel like this one portends a great deal about the shape of coming political changes.

Do you happen to know if the Fmr. Mayor of Newton won his town against Ted Kennedy in the 64 Senate race?
