She has a point (up to a point anyway) and the nanny state bit has been taken out of context (although using the phrase in a positive way could be thought of as asking for it...)

I don't know how the Tories dare criticize the government for interfearing in people's private lives. What about their disastrous Back to Basics rubbish?

I happen to agree with Labour about smoking bans. It's not nannying, it's merely protecting the rights of non-smokers to breathe clean air. I hardly see what's wrong with that.

Non-smokers have every right to choose not to go to restaruants that allow smoking.
