I hereby resign from the Atlasian Senate. With real world obligations clouding things, my Atlasian office just seems like a chore that I can put off or something, and I don't think that's fair to my constituents. I just don't have the time right now, I suppose.

Don't think I'm leaving Atlasia, or anything: I'm sure I'll run for something again eventually.

Maybe I'll go ahead and resign so I can run in the special election. At least that will spice things up. Tongue

Haha, wow, had no idea someone else had resigned (take it as an example of how little I've been paying attention and thus how this resignation really was necessary).

Honestly, I should've just resigned after I almost got kicked out, anyway, that's when everything started.

Please, Kal, I don't want any hard feelings here. I know I should have resigned a long time ago. I've resigned because I don't want to be, as you say, a lame Senator.

Yes, but right now you causing even more troubles for us with your resignation, than if you would just finish out your term and then retire.

I don't have hard feelings toward you. You were one of the best Atlasians but recently, this is fact, you were disengages officeholder.

Actually I mean Atlasia as whole, since I'm not concerned about holding BK's seat for JCP.

We would have a campaign after campaign. Even in the game, we need some period of settelement between regular elections and here... bah, 3 f**king special elections.

At most, there will be 2 elections.....it could only be 1 if the confirmation process is fast enough next week.

The best think would be to have all 3 at the same time, since having 3 one after one... ugh.

Isn't it legally possible to hold a 3-seats STV election if there are 3 seats to fill ?

There will, at minimum, be 2 seats up for election the weekend after next. Should Lief resign his Senate seat more than 24 hours before the election begins (or be confirmed to his new position), then all 3 will be elected simultaneously.

Of course its legal. The question is will 3 be vacant simulateneously. BK's is vacant now, Dallas' will become vacant on the fourth. And Lief's will become vacant when he swears in for his cabinet post following confirmation (A process which can't began till the 4th).

Alternatively I could resign before the 4th regardless if the public feels it's important that we don't have two special elections in a row.

I certainly think it'd make the election easier. Grin

Since Dallas is already VP-elect, I'd like to urge him to resign now his seat, to make an election easier.

That depends on what you're comfortable with. If you don't have a problem with it, I think it would be a lot easier to simply fill all 3 seats at once. You are, after all, nearly certain to be confirmed.

This is certainly the best plan for the public, but it might not be for you. Follow your heart. Tongue
