I also want to apply for moderator on the 2012 board. Especially the poll board.

I would support that as well.  Especially the poll board, so you can keep Hillary2012 in line.

Yes, we could indeed help out Nym.

You could have a look at the main board and I could look at the Presidential polls and later the Senate and House poll section ... Wink

Now all we need is Dave to decide.

I already PM'ed Dave (about 3 hours ago) that I'd be willing to co-mod the 2012 board with Nym.  That was before you posted here that you were also interested.  But if you want to split it up so that you look after the polling boards and I look after the main board or whatever, that's cool too.  Whatever Dave thinks is best is fine with me.

I think having Tender Branson as a mod of the poll boards would be a very good idea.

With the volume of posting on the 2012 boards only increasing rapidly with time, we definitely need two mods on each board, at least.

Anyway, Morden, have you seen Taxi Driver?

No.  It's actually near the top of the list of movies that I'm meaning to watch at some point, but haven't gotten around to.

Don't bother. It's very dull.

Uh, no.

Also, I favor BushOklahoma moderating that board.

Haha, now there's a laugh!!  Note, I would gladly accept another modship, but I'm smart enough not to ask for it considering the update thread.

I do think, however, that a tri-moderation of Nym, Morden, and TB would be ideal.  I support it all the way.

Your board is a bit freer of the personal vendettas, except in terms of people like Pounding the Rock, so you might not have a half-dozen new reports the second BRTD and Kalwejt bump into each other.

I only start to report BRTD when he starts to report me. Luckily, our mutual friend settled down recently Tongue

Hi,
I've agreed to both of these ideas - Mr. Morden is co-mod with Nym on the main 2012 board and Tender Branson is co-mod with Nym on the polling boards.
Enjoy,
Dave

The following links should tell you everything you need to know to be a moderator. Wink

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Torture

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Extrajudicial_punishment

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kangaroo_court

For the last one it will be nice to have an Australian as a moderator.

Congratulations.
Both Mr. Morden and Tender are excellent choices and some of the best posters all-around. Smiley

Thanks Dave.  Now can someone give me a quick primer on how I actually do this job?

It basically involves you making judgment calls via this thing called a "Moderation Board" and other people getting upset about you and starting threads about how you're a biased moderator.

The secret boards at subboards of this one.  There has been at least two cases, I'm pretty sure, of moderators being appointed for months before finding out where the hidden boards are (if ever).

The "is that a testicle showing?" discussion is currently the most interesting one going on, IMO.

Thank You very much Dave.

Smiley

Now I've got the power and already cleaned up the 2012 General Election Poll Section.

Ive seen you have given me moderator rights to the General Election Poll Section only, can you please also do the same for the 2012 Primary Poll Section and maybe the 2011/2012 Gubernatorial Poll and 2012 House/Senate Poll Section ?

I would like to suggest making Mr. Morden moderator of the Constitution & Law board as well.

That board does need a mod, but it doesn't need to be a new mod.  Ernest would be great for it, as I've said before.

I have no objections to having Ernest as mod on that board.

BushOK already tried that strategy, don't think it'll work a second time.
