What would be your assumption of what the phrase "hardcore kids" referred to?

I was wondering about this lately, most people would probably think it meant gangbangers or something to do with porn. The phrase is so commonplace to me I've used it around people who clearly wouldn't know what it means (including my grandmother, lol) and have got some confused reactions.

(For those somehow still unaware, it's just means people into hardcore music and subculture, like punks or metalheads, and despite the word "kids", there is no connotation of age.)

My immediate thoughts are some kind of skateboarder/X-games crowd but I am completely clueless to the distinctions within that type(s) of subculture.

I recall that I asked you to define the term last time I was on AtlasChat, but that was because I was uncertain whether you were referring to only the style you'd just posted a picture of, or were also including the black-Metallica-hoodie goth kids and such.

Those kids don't listen to hardcore, so no they are not hardcore kids.
