OK, it's all up to our German greens, so. Hans and Jon, before you vote I'd like to ask you to think a lot about it. You might prefer (by far) GreenLeft to the Moderate Party for political reasons : I do too. But how fun will the top 5 be, if there won't be even one mainstream right party ? And for the mainstream right, the Moderates are a great party, very sane and pretty successful in government. They also have a pretty strong history, if that matters.

Please people, sacrify GreenLeft in the name of fun and of political balance ! Please save the Moderates !!! I beg you ! Cry

I was actually going to vote for GroenLinks anyways before I read your eloquent plea, but that didnt hurt. And I agree, the Moderate Party is pretty sane as these things go.

Thank you Jon ! Smiley Sorry for doubting of you, but I always think about the worst possible scenarios. I'm so happy to see Fab proven wrong. Grin

I can't help but think about a scene like that. Tongue

"If you think the Moderates deserve to go, if... if you think they are objectively worse, less interesting than GreenLeft, then vote to eliminate them. But if you're doing this because GreenLeft better represents your political positions, then Fab is right. This survivor is biased. You have a choice. Maybe the last real one you'll have here."

Wondering if someone knows where this (rearranged) quote comes from. Grin

No need for tactical voting here. Julio votes for SPÖ.

1. I'm never wrong Grin.

2. Well, don't know this quotation.

3.  Unfortunately, Moderates are already out in a way. I can't waste my keep vote for them. I must stick to a party which has at least a tiny chance of going to the finale.

4. I'm a bit afraid by your "new" system... Tongue

Keep SAP

Wonder what would happen in case of a tie between the Alliance '90/The Greens (Germany) and the Sweden Moderates, which could have happened if Fab voted to keep the Moderates. I'm guessing the Moderates would go out, but it would be interesting to know Tongue

Hey Homely, why did you do that ? Huh DNA already had 2 votes which made it un-eliminable...

And what the hell am I supposed to do now ? Make sure my favorite party is qualified and eliminate the last right-wing party left, or give the moderates at least a try (since our lone right-winger didn't even bother doing) and risk contributing to the defeat of SAP ?

Oh, suck it.

Moderate Party

Whatever party loses the tie (M, SAP or Grüne) I'll be very disappointed. That would have been so much easier if Fab vote for the moderates... If anyone of Fab, Jarl or Homely wants to change his vote, I wouldn't mind.

BTW, Hans hasn't voted yet, and if he does the greens are probably safe...

Lâchez-moi les gars ! Grin
(Leave me alone, guys !)

Everybody says I should have voted differently for 3 rounds !!!
Come on, I do what I can Tongue !

I voted for the Norwegian Labour Party, because no one voted for it before me...

I don't want to change my vote, because when it's done, it's done.
And even though I changed my vote, it'd be to keep SAP Grin, not the Moderates !

Hans will save the Grünen of course.
I don't know exactly how you will break the tie. SAP has received far more votes, but they don't have all the same value.

Really, the party that deserved to go now is the SPÖ (nice enough, but by no way top-5 material). I can't feel good however if the top 5 is composed by 60% of social-democratic parties. And proving you wrong is, really, very important to me. Tongue So I almost certainly sacrify my favorite. I hope at least you realize the greatness of my abnegation.

So let me reiterate that if someone wants to change his vote, he's welcome. I'll close this as soon as I can, but resolving the 3-way tie should be pretty harsh...

Swedish Social Democratic Party is out

AKA "Sveriges socialdemokratiska arbetareparti", SAP

Leader Sad Håkan Juholt

Last general election result (2010) Sad 30.7%, 112/349 seats

SAP : 1 (more votes in previous rounds)
M : 1
Grüne : 1
SPÖ : 2
D66 : 2
DNA : 3

- Progressive Party of Working People (Cyprus)
- Social Democrats (Denmark)
- Danish Social Liberal Party
- Venstre (Denmark)
- Conservative People's Party (Denmark)
- Green League (Finland)
- Centre Party (Finland)
- National Coalition Party (Finland)
- Left Front (France)
- Socialist Party (France)
- Europe Écologie – Les Verts (France)
- Christian Democratic Union/Christian Social Union (Germany)
- Communist Party of Greece
- Italy of Values
- GreenLeft (Netherlands)
- People's Party for Freedom and Democracy (Netherlands)
- Centre Party (Norway)
- Liberal Party (Norway)
- Conservative Party (Norway)
- Christian Democratic Party (Norway)
- Spanish Socialist Workers' Party
- Swedish Social Democratic Party
- Liberal People's Party (Sweden)
- Centre Party (Sweden)
- Labour Party (UK)

Qualified for the Final Top 5 :
- Social Democratic Party of Austria
- Alliance '90/The Greens (Germany)
- Democrats 66 (Netherlands)
- Norwegian Labour Party
- Moderate Party (Sweden)

Phase III is now complete !
Now, time for the final top 5 tournament ! Cheesy In order to determine the winner of the survivor, every party left will be confronted to the other four in a duel (so there will be 10 duels overall). You'll have a total amount of 50 votes, that you will cast as you want between a duel and another (between 1 and 9). A victory will earn a party 2 points, a defeat 0 points and a tie 1 point. I hope you will enjoy this conclusive phase. Smiley
As usual, give me a few days to organize everything. And as usual, if you have any comments I'd be glad to hear them. Smiley

Olof, please forgive me ! Cry

See what you made me do... Angry Well, of course it was my choice : listening to my heart or to my head. Maybe I choose my head too often, but that's how I am. I won't complain, I've done what I think is the best for the survivor, even if it mean sacrificing the best party ever...

I don't want to seem a quote-maniac, but...

"You should be mourning. I know I am."

Oh, and Fab. It's over, you were wrong. Now, you'd better do your best to try making the Moderates win. Waste all your points for them, otherwise I swear I'll vote like a left-wing hack in every survivor from now.

Anyways, thank you guys for the extremely funny rounds we've had. There were bitter fights, and that's what made the game so awesome. The final phase was extremely thrilling, and I think overall we got a very nice top 5. I'm sure the final rounds will be equally great. Smiley

Yep, it was a spicy survivor and it was more interesting and fun than if we had eliminated all the parties except the main ones and got a top 5 of Labour, Conservatives, CDU, PSOE and the SPD of Germany which would have sucked.

It's a good top 5 (except for the greens).
I guess i know have to root for the SPÖ. Though i wouldn't be too upset if D66 or the Moderates got the top spot.

Well, most of the "obvious" parties you hated so much were good-but-not-so-great. You were right that they didn't deserve to be in the top 5, but they certainly belonged in the top 20 or 15. You couldn't honestly oust CDU before getting rid of VVD, nor oust the UK Labour before the Irish one. But in the end, I'm glad I could get along with you. Wink

I appreciate your gesture, Antonio, believe me Wink.
You've cut your right arm !
(but you've also seen in this survivor that I'm not a rightist hack... Tongue)

Killing the SAP, well, it's almost as horrible as killing the SPD, the Labour, the Tories and the CDU Grin.

And I'm so happy you've opted for the tournament, for the last 5 ! Cheesy
It was funny in my Chess survivor and my Commonwealth and Francophonie ones. And it takes longer... all the pleasure is here in survivors... Tongue

Don't worry, I'll support the Moderates for a very high position Wink (but you already know my favourite by default, now that the SPD, Labour and the Tories are out).

I send my ranking to Antonio, if I can't vote he has the right to vote for me. It is terrible enough that parties like the Moderates or the SPOE are still here, but I don't want that they win Wink

Alright guys, time to begin ! Cheesy

Let me briefly remember you the rules.
There will be 10 duels, opposing one party against another. In each of this duel, you can cast a certain number of votes in favor of the party you prefer, comprised between 1 and 9 and so that you will cast exactly 50 votes among the 10 duels.
When a party wins a duel (ie, it gets more votes than the other party), it is awarded 2 points and the other party gets none. If the duel results in a tie, the two parties will get one point each. After the 10 duels, the party with the most points will be the winner of the survivor.

Have fun ! Smiley
