Zogby has officially declared that Internet polling is the future, and that his 2004 INTERNET polls were very very accurate...

Here is a direct Quote from today's Zogby website....

Zogby International’s new Zogby Interactive poll is the “wave of the future,” and was validated by the 2004 election, pollster John Zogby announced.

“This poll proved to be extremely accurate,” Zogby said.  “I am confident it will be a leading part of our 2006 and 2008 efforts—and is setting the standard for a second generation of online polling.”

Interactive Poll "Wave of the Future"

Firstly, he is bragging about how good his results were.. these are the results Zogby has posted on his website, as of today, to "prove" how good he did...

Average margin of error of more than 5% is "good" and "validates the results"....? - Did I miss something...?

Systematically being baised, by an average of 4.6%, towards one Candidate (Kerry) in 18 out 20 states is "setting the standard"...?

What is even worse is his results are not even as "good" as he claimed them to be...

These are the ACTUAL November 1st final Zogby Interactive polls as published in the WSJ (The link still works)

Final Zogby Interactive Polls

The man missed the margin of error in 9 out of 16 races ! - More than HALF outside MOE.

The only thing this validates is that Zogby Interactive is a pile of %^%$%...

To be fair, Zogby does say one thing that is indeed true in this article...

The new online polling method is the result of six years of testing and development.  “Years of work—and the opportunity to test it in an intense, close election—paid off,” said Zogby.  “The Zogby Interactive poll was a huge success—it was more accurate than even our telephone polling when it came to predicting which candidate would take each state.”

Yes indeed, Zogby's internet polls were indeed more accurate than his telephone polls...

This is actually beyond sad, Zogby used to be a good pollster, but he has, well, just lost it.

Maybe we can start up a fund or something on his behalf?

This is two cycles in a row that have MASSIVELY blown up on Zogby.  His 2002 results were a joke too.

There are two ways a pollster can deal with this.

In 2000, Rasmussen was waaaay out.  He admitted it, said his methods were flawed and went out to fix it...

In 2004 "The Bot" actually did very well.

In 2004 Gallup's state polls utterly blew up... The have admitted it and have set about a plan to review what went wrong...

In 2002, 2004 Zogby blew up both times yets claims his results were "validated"....

Give me a break !

I think you mixed up the labels. The Zogby Interactive side looks like the correct side, and the Actual side looks like it's the Zogby results.

Florida, for example, WAS 52-47.
