Great! I'd love to see this play out to modern day. After a Republican victory in 68, Bobby 76!

Awesome!

By the way, you might want to tell Mechaman about Fred Harris becoming VP.

Oh sh!t, I completely forgot that Harris was Kennedy's VP in the Westman TL. I'll tell him.

I'm not sure about that, but Mech for some reason is a huge Harris fan.

I'm pretty sure that it was Harris....or maybe Reagan....now that I think of it, probably Reagan. Dammit, now the PM I sent him will make me look like an idiot.

Whoever RFK's first VP was, was replaced by Reagan in that timeline. Harris right now is a candidate for the 1984 Democratic nomination.

Don't worry, just send him a new one.

Tongue

Anyway, can we see the Republican map?

Also, I hope the Republicans don't end up screwed where Democrats get four straight terms, then the Republicans win in 1976 and because of the economy go down in flames in 1980, where the Democrats re-instate their rule, possibly for twelve years.

I really don't want Agnew to gain traction, but, whatever works. I could see Rocky giving it a go, and this time winning, citing the triple-failure of Conservatives to win the general election.

Ashbrook and McCloskey I see as having the most interesting candidacies out of all of them with Ashbrook being to the Right of Reagan (IMO, at least), and McCloskey being a straight up Liberal Republican.

Rocky isn't running this time. He's getting behind Baker, the most moderate candidate with a shot at the nomination.

I'm rooting for Reagan, but woudl be happy with Ashbrook or Baker who both could've made good Presidents, IMO.

Bumping, seeing as you're back. Hoping for a Reagan/Ashbrook, Baker/Ashbrook, Baker/Reagan or Reagan/Baker ticket to win!

NOOOOoooooo!!!!!

Anyway, I'm guessing this will lead a moderate to win in 1976 given four consecutive Conservative failures. In my search for possible candidates, what's the fate of George Bush ITTL? If he lost in his 1970 bid for the Senate, then his political career would be pretty much done because there wouldn't be a Republican administration to appoint him to anything. Maybe Rockefeller, Anderson, or Ford in 1976.

Nixon's like this era's William J Bryan, except Nixon's actually qualified.

Also, I'd like to see Nixon's runningmate. And who was running as the Conservative in the race, Nixon?

I'd be willing to help with the cabinet, & as for Ted, he could get re- elected to the Senate in 1972, 76, & 78.
