Are you seriously arguing that the banks never do anything wrong and are completely innocent here? Did you even read a word I wrote? Have you been in a complete coma in the past 10 years? To be completely honest, your complete lunacy and stupidity bother me far more than the content of your opinions. You really seem like you've been brainwashed by some external source. You seem deeply misinformed.

That article made me want to throw-up.  Can anyone say "brash ignorance"?

I mean, since the Senate's only self-described socalist is from Vermont I guess that makes socialism a political movement rooted in the history of the Northeast, no?

#absurd

You seem to have attempted to use a hashtag. Hashtags do not work there. You may be looking for Twitter.

Xahar wants to be the new Al soooo badly you can almost see it.

For one thing, I very much doubt Al knows what a hash tag is, nor would he ever care to find out.

I don't see the relationship, given that Xaviar is much funnier than Al, who is merely funny because of his pomposity.  We laugh with our dear Xagar, but as for the unfortunate gnome of the mine-shaft, one laughs (perhaps a little guiltily given his handicaps) at him.

You know, the 'everything about you' part.  It's tiresome.  Even BRTD hasn't posted anything obsequious in days.

Maybe mix it up a little?  Try another ideological 180 or something.  It got people talking for years after the last time.

Sorry, what are you saying?  That I was being obsequious to Jayhar?  I was critiquing Al, which I have done for years on here.  The little fellow rubs me the wrong way.

Aw, your feigned ignorance is cute, I'll give you that.

But I have no time for you right now, I'm afraid.  I suggest re-reading my post for now.

The last page of this thread is pure beauty. I enjoy how derailment in this thread is comedy.

I honestly have no idea what you're posting about, Joe.  Are you saying I was posting about myself when I posted about Al and Xahar?

Oh, Antonio, I never said he wasn't 'clever'.  He's just a bore and a trifle pathetic.  True, his cleverness is enormously overrated on this forum, but I tend to chuckle at his affectations rather than any intellectual shortcomings.

If one is to entertain the project of affectations, one must have a sense of humor about oneself (and if there if there is anything I know about, it is about entertaining affectations).

I suppose J. J. posting directly into here is like when Naso posts directly into the Goldmine, it's against standard protocol but appropriate in this case.

Why not? King does.

J.J. isn't the oh snap here.  BRTD is, but J. J. multiplied it's snappiness with his reversely lame retort.

I can PX's excuse.  English isn't his first language;

Or yours, apparently.

Well, Joe, what part of "at least 14 months" don't you understand?  Smiley  I certainly think Obama will be in office for at least 14 months.  I don't know of anyone expecting him to leave early.

(Franky, the argument I have for staying at least that long is two words:  "President Biden.")

"I can PX's excuse" is not coherent English.  That is all.  Anything else you say is irrelevant.

And don't call me Franky.

It's amazing how badly J. J. opened himself for that. It reminds me of the guy with the "morans" sign.

Will the Republicans repeal the entire healthcare bill or will they replace it with something? Will they keep in popular provisions like covering people with pre-existing conditions or letting youngs stay on their parents insurance plan till they are 26? Are we going back to the "good ol' days" where people die due to lack of healthcare? What do you guys think?

Edit: People are probably still dying due to lack of Health insurance since major parts of the bill don't even go into effect till 2014. What a clusterf**k!

As opposed to the good new days when government bureaucrats decide that certain people with health insurance are to die in the name of cost containment.
Better to die at the hands of a bureaucrat who condemns you to death while trying to contain costs to a system that rightfully serves everyone...

Than to die at the hands of an insurance cost containment specialist who condemns you to death in order to boost profits for a bunch of rich/upper middle class share holders.

"Comrade Ivanov!" said Comrade Petrov, "32 miners died yesterday in the tunnel collapse.  I must admit that I fear for my own life.  Do such things happen in the Capitalist countries?"

"Stop thinking such nonsense, Comrade Petrov!" said Comrade Ivanov, "of course such things happen in the Capitalist countries.  Under our Socialist system, we all strive to provide the best for all the workers.  It is true that we did not have enough rescue equipment to save every worker trapped in that tunnel.  But this was not due to malice, merely the fact that our resources our limited and we must rightfully serve everyone.  By contrast, in a system of Capitalist wage-exploitation, the bourgeoisie, interested only in profiteering, deliberately denies the proletariat any advantage or protection they can keep from their workers.  Do you see the difference now?"

"I think I am beginning to understand now," said Comrade Petrov, "but what is the practical difference between me, a miner in a Socialist country, and a miner in a Capitalist country?"

Comrade Ivanov's jaw dropped.  "Surely you must be joking!" he said, "under Capitalism a mine owner maintains an exploitative relationship with his wage-laborers, in which they are forced to work for the lowest wage possible while the owner steals all the profits for himself.  By contrast, this mine is collectively owned by us, the workers.  We all work to produce as much as possible, and all the profits from our production are distributed among the workers as well.  So you see, in a capitalist country a miner is the lowest caste of society, forced into their position by exploitation.  Here, even some university-educated men become miners."

"But Comrade Ivanov," said Comrade Petrov, "I didn't choose to become a miner either..."

Comrade Ivanov guffawed.  "This is absurd!  How can you not realize that this is the most crucial and remarkable distinction between Capitalism and Socialism of all?  Capitalism forces the workers to labor, Socialism requires them to."

Comrade Petrov nodded his head.  "I understand all of that, but it still doesn't explain to me; why ought we not to complain about the deaths of those 32 miners?"

Comrade Ivanov smiled.  "That's simple," he said, "they died while we did all we could afford for them; it's not as if they died due to exploitation of any sort."

The foreman cocked his shotgun.  "You two!  Back to work!"
