It's good to know that an otherwise laughably bad candidate supporting state-sponsored revenge killings when their opponent doesn't is still enough to pull a tied race in this country. I was afraid we were in danger of becoming sensible or compassionate or something. Just because the revenge killings have no positive sociological effect whatsoever and the majority of the population recognizes this is no reason we should stop doing them!

Er, could you edit this post after I've corrected the original to the right form of 'their'? I'd just woken up when I wrote it; thanks.

If this is a consolation for you, I also feel like sh*t for not noticing it.

Hard to vote FF when he at least knew that his government would bomb Pearl Harbor.

And slaughtered and raped millions of Chinese.

(But clearly Pearl Harbour was the Japanese governments most awful act)

Why does it take more than 20 weeks to decide to have an abortion after being raped? What am I missing here?
You're missing that it's none of your business. It's not up to you to decide.

Good riddance. Groups like these have been giving conservative Christians a bad name and misleading homosexuals and their families. Telling someone to maintain a life of celibacy is far easier than what they are trying to do.

Yes, it's easy to "tell someone to maintain a life of celibacy”, but let's not pretend that's a good thing.

Most people here don't know any other way.

The subject was John Lewis, but no prizes for guessing who the post was aimed at:

Perhaps someone who was a leader of the civil rights movement understands the actual history of the civil rights movement better than some 19 year old kid reading things on the internet.

What's absurd about that? That's exactly what Obama's been doing every day since his inauguration. Tongue

I'm not sure whether or not this was intentional, but it was good.

I know very little about Naso's experiences or psychology. He hasn't shared all that many of them. Which is fine. I choose not to share unflattering things about my life as well.

But I am morally opposed to the fact that the simplest things like condoms are now being handed out for free.

This sounds like a judgment handed down on the assumption that condoms encourage people to have sex, rather than reduce the societal cost of it.
No, I have no problems with sex, being a teenaged male of course Tongue. My problem is the fact that the condoms are free. I can pay for my own condoms, and so can everyone else.

Condoms take up a smaller part of your discretionary income than they might someone else.

So it's my job to pay for teenagers to have sex? Whose job is it to pay for my pizza? Go back in time and tell Thomas Jefferson by law he has to pay for teens to have condoms for sex.

Go back in time and tell Thomas Jefferson by law he can't own slaves.

Uh oh, what's this?  pbrower talking out of his snobbish ass again?

As an example, Kentucky is extremely friendly to alcohol
Red counties are dry. Yellow are semi-dry.

You know, it's because of people like Bushie that Deuteronomy 21:18–21 is in the Bible.

Is there anything in the Constitution that says that American taxpayer money can be sent to foreign countries?  I don't understand why we do it.  We have our own people to take care of, our own needs.  We should spend the money here at home first.  Then, maybe if there's money left over, give foreign aid, but it should be much smaller than what we're giving.

Also: President Obama is spending $100 million on his trip to Africa, where he is receiving a cool reception (in some places its actually a hostile reception).  What was the point of this trip and was it worth $100 million of our money?

There's so much money being wasted.  Balance the budget, close the deficit?  Spend wiser.

Why should I have to give money to help other people?! They don't even have the same skin color or religion as me! Besides, they'll probably just have it wasted, lol.

Ok well time to hop in my mom's minivan to go down to the mall and buy an iPad mini. Later,  guys.

Yes, sorry for spending more time on posting something of substance about the guy instead of saying exactly what everyone else said. The thread is much better when we have about twenty of the same comments. I'll make sure my next post satisfies your adjective quota. Smiley

Mods, please feel free to just go ahead and ban me if you ever unban jmfcst.

Not saying that in some sort of martyr way; I'd just rather not be around.

Might as well.  I mean, we wouldn't want you to become a cynical, unlikeable douche, now would we?

Hmm I would've seen that but that would've required me to not have that user on ignore.

I don't disagree with the assessment though.

Treating something that is fundamentally not a 'business transaction' as if it is is fundamentally moronic, as well as dangerous. But don't be disheartened. Attitudes like that may well be criminally stupid, but they will serve you well in your future career as a loathsome middle manager-cum-petty tyrant in a company that provides useless services to the service sector in Septic Swamp, FL.

I know exactly what you mean, Naso.  Willful ignorance is extremely annoying.

You know, panem et circenses. It was used under the Roman Empire, but still true today.

Okay don't go throwing your fancy Latin at me, buddy. Pan-Am aside...
