Like I said.. I will vote against this bill because I refuse to change the name of Mondale National Airport, a respected politician among liberals, to that of a moderate hero who has long since been involved in Atlasia or the Atlas forum.
The first bill was complete partisan hackery, changing conservative-named airports to liberal-named airports. And despite your "commitment" to voting against frivolous legislation, you voted for something that was no more than a left vs. right game.

Props to HappyWarrior for doing this. It's ridiculous and pathetic the first bill ever even passed. I actually wouldn't mind changing it back to what they were named before.

Here's the difference: Conservatives in RL were the ones who named it after conservative leaders, so don't try and blame it on us. The right has not engaged in partisan hackery. Only the left has. Liberals in this game were the ones who named it after liberal leaders, not leaders in RL. And yes, there is a huge difference between these two.

If you think named it Washington Nyman was good enough, why don't you propose an amendment changing it to that? I surely would be fine with that. All I want to see done is fixing an act of partisan hackery caused completely by the left in the game.

My friends, what happened in this chamber last session was pure partisan hackery. Even liberals can agree to that:

And yes, renaming the airports was partisan hackery.  I'd expect no less from the right if they had a super majority in the senate and held the presidency.

We are simply looking to undo a wrong done by the last Senate. Whether it be by changing it to the names of Atlasians or even naming it Washington and Nyman. Whatever you guys want. I just think it's sad that when the left did have a chance to pass whatever they wanted, they passed meaningless , extremely partisan, junk bills that did nothing to improve the game.

I still don't understand why airports were named after Americans when we live in Atlasia.

I urge the Senate to vote Nay on this motion, rejecting partisan hackery in the Senate.

I actually like the Vice President's idea of naming them not after people. "Hope" and "Liberty", or something along those lines, shouldn't be too controversial and I imagine anyone who isn't hyper-partisan could back it.

Would people be more acceptable to that?

Hope? Liberty? Seems so cheesy, tmth.. Tongue

The first sounds like an evangelical airport.
I'm trying to find some sort of compromise that won't be viewed as partisan in any way.

How about naming them after the cities in which they service/reside? Seems pretty straight forward to me. Nyman International Airport etc..
That'd be acceptable too. Whatever y'all feel is appropriate.

It would have been nice to possibly decide on Hope and Liberty, but I'm fine if the Senate passes this version too.
