This Washington Post poll was conducted by telephone April 28 to May 4, 2011, among a random sample of 1,180 adults in the Commonwealth of Virginia, including 1,040 registered voters and users of both conventional and cellular phones. 677 interviews conducted before targeting killing of Osama bin Laden; 503 afterward. The results from the full survey have a margin of sampling error of plus or minus 3.5 percentage points. Sampling, data collection and tabulation by Abt-SRBI of New York.

This looks much more believably than this other college poll that had Allen up by about 15.

PPP will also have a Virginia poll out next week, but PPP's results are very likely to show a close race too.

I think it will remain close until October 2012, then Kaine should open a moderate lead over Allen.

I think it will remain close until October 2012, then Kaine Allen should open a moderate lead over Allen Kaine.

I'm kind of surprised that they both have such strong approve/disapprove numbers.

Were the approval numbers from adults or registered voters?

I'm surprised to see such high approvals from Allen especially.

This should be a premier race in 2012. I honestly don't know who will win this.
