Illinois was clearly stolen in 1960, but Texas most likely wasn't.  Though the power of LBJ in the state (in terms of vote influence) in 1960 was much stronger than say the power or influence in this area of even someone like Rendell today, I personally don't think enough votes were manipulated to change it.  It's the reason why Nixon chose better in terms of challenging the election.
