1. Mike Huckabee 19%
2. Mitt Romney 18%
3. Newt Gingrich 13%
4. Sarah Palin 12%
5. Donald Trump 8%
5. Ron Paul 8%
7. Michele Bachmann 7%
8. Tim Pawlenty 5%

without Trump:

1. Mitt Romney 21%
2. Mike Huckabee 20%
3. Newt Gingrich 15%
4. Sarah Palin 14%
5. Ron Paul 8%
6. Michele Bachmann 7%
7. Tim Pawlenty 6%

without Huckabee or Trump:

1. Mitt Romney 24%
2. Newt Gingrich 20%
3. Sarah Palin 17%
4. Ron Paul 12%
5. Michele Bachmann 8%
5. Tim Pawlenty 8%

without Palin or Trump:

1. Mike Huckabee 24%
2. Mitt Romney 22%
3. Newt Gingrich 20%
4. Michele Bachmann 9%
5. Ron Paul 8%
6. Tim Pawlenty 7%

without Huckabee, Palin, or Trump:

1. Mitt Romney 28%
2. Newt Gingrich 26%
3. Ron Paul 12%
4. Michele Bachmann 11%
5. Tim Pawlenty 9%

favorability / unfavorability among GOP primary voters:

Mike Huckabee 59%/22% for +37%.
Sarah Palin 61%/31% for +30%.
Newt Gingrich 54%/30% for +24%.
Mitt Romney 52%/29% for +23%.
Donald Trump 34%/53% for -19%.

Again, asked among GOP primary voters:
Do you think Barack Obama was born in the United States:

yes 48%
no 34%
not sure 18%

(So yes, we still have just over 50% of Republicans either saying that Obama born outside the US, or that they're "not sure".)

Who wins among:
Obama born in USA: Romney
Obama not born in USA: Huckabee
not sure if Obama born in USA: Huckabee
moderate: Huckabee/Romney tie
somewhat conservative: Romney
very conservative: Huckabee
men: Huckabee
women: Huckabee
under age 30: Huckabee
age 30-45: Romney
over age 45: Huckabee

Those are encouraging number for Newt but rather embarrassing for Romney.  He should we way ahead of this field but yet he is barely a nose ahead of his next closest competitor (in every scenario),

You missed the excellent news:  Sarah Palin's got the highest favorability!

Mike Huckabee 59%/22% for +37%.
Sarah Palin 61%/31% for +30%.
Newt Gingrich 54%/30% for +24%.
Mitt Romney 52%/29% for +23%.
Donald Trump 34%/53% for -19%.

I still want to see Palin run and get crushed in the general.  Unfortunately, this is the more likely scenario:

without Huckabee, Palin, or Trump:
1. Mitt Romney 28%
2. Newt Gingrich 26%
3. Ron Paul 12%
4. Michele Bachmann 11%
5. Tim Pawlenty 9%

48+18 is not "just over 50%" It's two-thirds, as is in two-thirds of GOP primary voters are completely delusional.

34+18 is definitely not  "two-thirds" of 100, Memphis.

If you consider thinking Obama was born in the United States (48%) as completely delusional, perhaps you should have your sanity checked, memphis.

I read the poll question backwards Tongue In any case, half the GOP remain utterly delusional. These are people who think they are entitled not just to their own opinions, but their own facts.

Another poll showing that we wont know where the race stands until Huckabee makes his move (or doesn't). Palin and Trump are fading, but Huck continues to dominate.

Romney will be the candidate, as all the establishment, all the moderates will be 100% behind him, afraid as they are to have a Palin, a Trump, a Paul, a Bachmann, a DeMint or even a Newt definitely killing the GOP.

Pawlenty (so-called blue-collar origins + MidWest EVs),
Daniels (MidWest and MidEast EVs + kewl motocycle)
or Rubio (Hispanics + surprise effect + crazy right) will be picked as his VP.
(and since Mitt isn't the Mac, he won't pick Rubio Grin or in a very desperate attempt)

Every other alternative has collapsed, except for Huck, but he won't be a candidate (and even if he is, he won't make it against Romney).
