I must be permanently out of touch with my own generation. I heard a song, a new song, playing at work the other day.
It was a country song and I thought the chorus was really catchy. I couldn't remember the name of it, but I remembered it was from the country singer Josh Thompson.
I found out it's a song called "Love of the Common People". I then found out that it was written in
1967 by Waylon Jennings and has been covered by many artists, Mr. Thompson included.
Even when I find a new song that I finally like...I find out it is 45 years old! Maybe I don't purposely reject new music, maybe my musical tastes just differ.
