Anyone care to take part in a macabre pool on his assasination?  I give him a year before his fancy threads are bloodied in a hail of bullets. Mind you I don't want that to happen but that does seem to be the default position in Afghan politics.

Dostum's mob are probably the most likely

Dostum is the Uzbek git right?  The omnipresence of private armies does not bode well for Karzai.  I had a Pashtun professor in College who left to become part of the new government a while back.  I wonder if he is still alive.  National Geo. had an article about the "Hunt for Bin Laden" this month and it went into detail about the Pashtun's.  Those people really love their AK's.  He is not even safe among his own people.

Yep. He's been printing his own money (no joke: he has his own printing press and everything) and having people shot since the '80's when he ran the Commie special forces.

On the other hand, Ismail Khan isn't happy about losing power in Herat... oh and then there's all those pissed off Tajiks... and what's left of the Taliban... and old "Acid Thrower" (Hekmatyr. I've spelt that wrong) is still around...
