Who would be the most  recognized president in America? I'll not include worldwide, since Bush and Obama are far more known by citizens in say Japan then Washington and Lincoln will ever be known outside of the states. I would choose Obama but I would wait and see his longevity will be like. If not that well then FDR would be the name that 8 out of 10 people would known if I asked who they were, with Jefferson second in recognized.

After Obama and Bush?  Probably Clinton.  Americans are retarded like that.

(Maybe Reagan given that a lot probably think both Bushes are the same guy and that Hillary Clinton is the former president).

One of my mom friends husband told me one of their daughter friend thinks that if Obama dies, Hillary will become president. I guess he has never heard Joe Biden and  if Biden kicks the bucket, John Boehner. And I know people who have never heard of Poppy but thinks George Bush is just the son.

Ronald Reagan. Remember, he won the 'greatest american ever' poll before. Obviously he has the most name recognition especially with the Republicans constantly ejaculating his name in ads or debates.

He might be, consider that no one cares about pre-life history and only care about what happen in their lifetime. Reagan is defintley the third or forth most well known president if you ask me about the rankings.

Ignoring Barrack, Dubya, and Clinton, I'd say Reagan or Kennedy. I remember having this list of Presidents when I was a little kid, and while I passed over Carter and Nixon, and I can't even remember being even slightly aware of Gerald Ford's existence until after his death, JFK and Ronald Reagan stuck out to me. I didn't know anything about politics then, but I liked the way the two R's just rolled off your tongue: "Ronald Reagan", and there was something about Kennedy that made him stick in my head. FDR would be another good one for this.

Don't worry about Jerry Ford. I'm sure most Americans then and now don't even care or knowledge the presidential of the only president to never be elected by vice president or president

When I discovered his existence (I was pretty young, TBF), I really thought "WTF ? They really had a President with such a name ? ". Van Buren just doesn't sound presidential.

Well, who ever thought  mixed race guy with the name of "Obama" was ever going  to be president. It was different time back then.

If you would consider sporcle a good source in this instance than Reagan would be the most recognizable and pierce would be least.

That more of quiz site, so that not the best source to clam about anything. The best way to settle this is to ask people how many presidents they can name and we would see who wins based on asking random people.
