I have a somewhat similar problem - I work at a grocery store, and spend way too much money there. I probably spend more on food than anything else and I'm still under my parent's roof.

Correct - there is a fine line, I believe, our nation needs to walk between too much government and too little. But the idea that the government is horrific and we must cut as much as we possibly can is bad and quite frankly, dangerous.
