It's ironic, right? Or are you a Republican critic of Scott Walker? If the latter, kudos.

Look at my compass score. I'm a PA Democrat.

As for Joe, hilarious.

EDIT: Also, Phil's is cool.

Oh crap, I keep mixing people up. Sad

Oh and the quote: I don't really have an opinion of Counting Crows, but this probably isn't too far off.

I think it would be nice if Thai election poster sigs became something of a 'meme' over here. It's always nice to see a scene of Thai life.

Please explain what is "cool" about a far-right genocidal maniac. It's not any cooler than having Pol Pot or Hitler in your sig - it's just as retarded and downright scary.

What's with the recent string of Asian signs I've been seeing in sigs lately?

Thai 'Elections'. Opebo started with a poster of the 'Democratic' Party, then Lewis Trondheim sigged some joke candidate, and mine is mainly because I like the idea of opebo having to see it several times a day. Also, the bits of Thailand around the posters look nice.

@Hash, lewis

It's just an anecdote I picked up at some random non-politics related blog. I can't find where I found it in the first place, but as memory serves me, the blog-owner reported another person's account of a visit to Liechtenstein in the mid-eighties (possibly 1970's definitely mid-something though).
I think it may very well be apocryphical, but I don't think that hurts the punch-line, which is just amusing regardless of it being true.

Uh, so after the Vietnam War? Even mid-70s was after US involvement.

Mid-sixties then?? Tonkin resolution was 1964, no? Well, it really doesn't matter to the anecdote anyway.

Fits in nicely with Kevin's tradition of stuffing his signature with the Spawn of Satan.

William Blake isn't my favourite romantic poet, but I've always liked that couplet.

And 'Exterminate all rational thought' is a Burroughs quote as per Google. Definitely makes more sense than exterminating all te brutes. What are you majoring in any way?

Something about Sarkozy and agriculture. I don't like Sarkozy btw.

A somewhat free translation of Sarkozy's mot célèbre would be: 'Shut the **** up, you *****'.

Oh, and 1920's fashion is not something I'm very passionate about either way.

Not quite. "Casse-toi" basically means GTFO (maybe a tad less offensive). And "con" is basically idiot or dumbass. Pauv' is "pauvre" (litterally "poor") but "pauvre" put before an insult usually indicates contempt. An aproximate translation could be "pathetic".

Thus we get "get the f- out, you pathetic idiot". (pauvre con, though, is a much more common insult than pathetic idiot, so it's not perfect). That's what Sarko answered to a man who insulted him during the Salon de l'Agriculture and since then the sentence has become an epitome of Sarko's vulgarity and un-presidentialness.

Hence the 'somewhat free'. Wink

The correct translation of the cartoon is something like: ''Has to be amputated' said the salesman of crutches, and we believed him!'

Just so you guys know.

These guys don't even bother to hide their nazism in a credible way.

It actually says 'Nazi Parliament', if what little remains of my ancient Greek is still of any use. (Boulè being 'council' in AG, I assume 'Vouli' or however one is now supposed to pronounce it means 'parliament' and they're clearly in front of the Greek Parliament.)

Ah, 'Sti'  isn't a suffix to 'Nazi', but a preposition?
