Just add Barbara Mikulski (D, MD) -- you know, in the case that the President must resign for reasons of health, as in the face of an impending heart attack  -- and it won't be sexist.

I'd definitely vote against that nasty little troll.

Yes, nasty people certainly suck, don't they?

Yep, and Mikulski is the suck-est.

Okay, I'll bite, what did the squat Polish woman from Baltimore do to you?

She was elected Senator.  Over and over and over.  She is indicative of the poison that has turned central Maryland into a sh**thole, with her combination of urban poor provincialism, lobotomized pro-labor positions, and support for bureaucracies wherever possible.

I spent the first 34 years of my thus far 34.5-year life in Maryland.  I'd gladly take a cuckoo New Mexico left-wing goofball over that dreary, foul little gremlin.

She was elected Senator by Marylanders.  Over and over and over by landslides.  She is indicative of the poison that has turned central Maryland into a sh**thole, with her combination of urban poor provincialism, lobotomized pro-labor positions, and support for bureaucracies wherever possible.

Fine tuned your statement.

Yes, I recall the famed "Turn central Maryland into a Sh*thole Mikluski Amendment". Tragic piece of legislation. Such a shame considering how well the region did under Reaganomics in the 80's and 2000's.

The Maryland economy is incredibly dependent upon and distorted by the influence of a large state and Baltimore City's bureaucracies, and the nearby presence of the federal government and government contractors.  (And even the contractors mostly locate themselves on the other side of the Potomac.)

I don't deny that Mikulski is popular, but she's not good for MD, IMO.  I didn't like Sarbanes but at least he had some (microscopic) nuance.

Bachmann. I think she has a much stronger record to work from, and isn't as polarizing. She's also hotter, which helps. Wink

Also, while I don't think either would beat Obama, I think Bachmann's the only one with a realistic chance. I think there is a scenario for a Bachmann Presidency if the economy sours and things look bad overseas. I can't see America electing Palin under almost any realistic circumstance.

Bachmann. She's a newer face, her support can expand outside of the tea party. She didn't quit her elected office. She can hold ground.

Palin and Bachmann really are not as close as everyone thinks they are just because they are younger female republican conservativce politicians with accents.

The main difference between the two I see is that Bachmann is more shrill and vicious while Palin just comes across as an idiot. For example I don't think any liberal is terrified of the thought of Palin becoming President, not that liberals are too worried about a Bachmann presidency either but to elaborate: When Palin says stupid things, most of her haters just facepalm or shake their heads and the fact that there are people who still support her just reassures the left that the other side is full of stupid people. Bachmann on the other hand terrifies people that there are plenty who like and vote for her. I mean people trash me for hating exurbs and judging places on their voting patterns, but once people realize that somewhere like Wright County elects someone like Bachmann it becomes a bit different. So I don't see what type of person would vote for Bachmann but not Palin as cemented as opinions are of Palin, it's not likely that people who hate Palin will be turned on to Bachmann once they know more about her. Maybe somewhere like the Chicago exurbs if she was running against someone other than Obama. On the other hand there are places where Palin's psuedo-folksiness might play well but Bachmann's shrill style won't, I'm thinking of MN-07 for example when Bachmann can't win any district in Minnesota besides her own, but Palin might be able to carry MN-07.

And I don't think Bachmann is really any smarter than Palin, she just displays her stupidity in a different way that masks it a bit more.
