She wouldn't have relinquished power, certainly not in the time before her death. The Congress is a monarchy; monarchs rarely voluntarily abdicate.

Yup and Rahul Gandhi will be the next PM of India. Count on it. He just recently got arrested for helping farmers who were leading an agitation. He will definitely win.
