lulz@the countries who are shocked a woman got it.  As the IMF states, the final candidates were well qualified, and I'm sure they are.........Her plus plus is, I doubt we'll read stories of her banging pool boys across the globe, so this might be a smart choice in other respects.

Not that this is important beyond having a new face and hopefully somebody who isn't a sexual maniac.

I had half expected her to be the replacement for Ban Ki-Moon in a couple of years, but this is a more appropriate role for her.

After reading the laundry list of countries that were for her getting the job, I don't see how the "world" is shocked.

I sure hope it does piss off the bigots though.  It's always fun to piss off bigots.

For some reason everybody seem to think it's very important that she's a woman and an European and just missed the main point : bigoted neoliberalism is back in the IMF. DSK had his flaws, but at least he was bringing some sanity.

I think the headline is sarcastic.

Too bad he wasn't sane enough to keep his dick in his pants.

I have been know to toy with sarcasm from time to time, so it's certainly possible.

No such person exists.

The IMF has always been a neoliberal institution. DSK or no DSK.

I seriously doubt the IMF would have taken a so resolute position during the economic crisis had it been ruled by a traditional neoliberal hack. Of course it would never become The-Saviour-Of-The-Poor, but DSK was moving things in the right direction IMO.
