A few people have been calling Huntsman a moderate hero while others have been calling Romney too moderate for the Republican base. Who is more moderate?

I doubt Romney actually has political positions.

Romney gets the "moderate" label because the media has decided that being the former Republican Governor of Massachusetts qualifies him for it. In reality, he takes whatever position is politically expedient for him at the time. I doubt he has an ideology beyond "get me elected".

Huntsman has taken a couple of sane positions, most notably on gay rights. That's how he got the "moderate" label. I don't think I've ever heard anything about his actual record as Governor of Utah.

Romney is more liberal 'moderate' even though he's running to the right of Huntsman.

Romney has no core principles. He is only a moderate in the sense that if you took the average of all the different positions he's held on any given issue, the result might be a centrist position.

He only has one issue position: He is Pro-Mitt Romney being elected.

You mean who is more of a "progressive"? Obviously Huntsman.

If there is any justice in this world Huntsman and Romney will split the "moderate" vote.

I don't think that Huntsman has any supporters outside of A. Utah and B. the press.  I don't think he'll be splitting anything with Romney.

How unfortunate. I was hoping for there to be zero risk of President Romney. Sad

As a conservative Republican, I could not agree more. (Who says we cannot have bipartisanship.)

Seriously, Romney has been all over the board on many issues near and dear to many conservatives: everything from abortion and gay marriage to global warming, he seems to go wobbley.

Although Huntsman is not much better in terms of substance, he at least does not dodge some of his waverings. The one thing that would make me vote for Huntsman over Romney is the former's proven pro-life record.

Impossible to answer, because Romney is a political chameleon with no core beliefs other than whatever is most expedient at the moment. Huntsman has a few moderate-ish positions, and served in a Democratic administration, but nobody ever seems to talk about his record as governor of Utah.
