Can I suggest you delete and re-do this thread taking out Gore, Richardson and Pryor none of whom are likely to run and replacing with Cuomo?  If you want the same amount, maybe O'Malley and Klobuchar or something?

I'm just wanting to see the Atlas' response to THIS BATCH of candidates.

I think that, if he wanted to, Gore could mount a very serious 2016 campaign--he certainly has the money, the name recognition, a NOBEL PEACE PRIZE, and by 2016 the Clinton years will be remembered as somewhat as a post-Cold War, pre-9/11 American High.  Also, Gore is arguably the most "progressive" of any candidate on this list--he could get the support of the liberal blogosphere for his work with social and environmental causes.

1) Kirsten Gillibrand
2) Russ Feingold (If he ruturns to Politics as a Senator or Governor before the Presidential Election)
3) Maria Cantwell
4) Mark Warner

*** Hillary Clinton would be my first choice, but there is little chance of her running.

My guy (Dennis Kucinich) isn't on the poll, so I voted Feingold.

Hillary has said she will not run, so I didn't vote for her.

Cuomo - Schweitzer is looking like a hell of a ticket in 2016. But if you are making me pick...

Schweitzer has always been my guy. Broad appeal and progressive where it matters.

He's a guy that could really light up the Iowa caucuses and carry that momentum through to the nomination. In the general he would clean up the west and put hard pressure on the GOP's southern base camp. He may very well be the first Democrat to win Texas since Carter.

Yeah, I could see the bolo tie in the White House...

Good debut bluegrass.  Schweitzer isn't a bad bet for nominee in 2016.  He'll probably speak again at the convention next year and is likely to do well with the chance.  Great fit for Iowa and NH.

I voted for Feingold, but I'd seriously consider Warner as well... there's also Cuomo to consider, if he chooses to run.

Hillary, obviously.

If she doesn't run, my choice would be Debbie Wasserman Schultz or Kirsten Gillibrand leading the ticket with maybe Russ Feingold or Ted Strickland as VP.

I think Warner would make a great President but he just doesn't seem to have the personality or oratory skills to be a great presidential candidate (this may seem superficial but it is extremely important.)

I think he would be a more valuable asset in the Senate, perhaps becoming majority leader someday. He needs to be elevated to a leadership position yesterday.

Who I would like to win:
1) Patrick
2) Feingold
3) Gillibrand

Who I think would have the best chance to win:
1) Gore
2) Patrick
3) Shweitzer

But what about Cuomo? D:

Cuomo and O'Malley strike me as the two Democrats most likely to run.  Warner and Schweitzer seem pretty likely.  Biden if polls without Hillary show him competitive and donors are open to him in spite of his age.  Hillary doesn't appear interested but who knows if that's sincere and if so how likely it is that  she changes her mind.  Gillibrand seems pretty likely to run but only if Hillary did not.  Feingold sounds cool toward a senate run next year and I'd be sort of surprised if he ran for president in 2016.  Have heard no one say Gore has any interest.  Find it unlikely he'd pass on the past two races to run in 5 years 16 years after he left the Vice-Presidency.  Then again, who would have guessed even 6 months ago or whatever, that Huntsman, Perry and Bachmann might all run while Thune, Barbour, Daniels and Huckabee all would not.  So 5 years out, who knows anything?

Russ Feingold, BTW.

In the wake of recent events, forget Feingold -if Maryland Gov. Martin O'Malley is interested in national politics, then I would certainly take a good look at him.
