in real life, Gustaf has a great sense of humor.  he has a group of six or eight friends that come over for tea and cupcakes 3x weekly, and they double over laughing until time disappears.  he also is respected by his co-workers, who also enjoy his comedy, while admiring his ability to separate in from the sphere of hard work with such grace, one would be convinced he'd flipped some internal switch.
